6 things to do if you want to make life flawless
Life always offers us different situations. Some of them are moments of joy and success, others are difficulties, suffering, lack of self-confidence. Perhaps there is no person who, in a difficult situation, has not allowed himself to be "swallowed" by emotions, destructive thoughts that further undermine his resilience.
Have you heard of the ancient philosophy of Stoicism? It has practices that help us strengthen our mental and emotional strength during times of difficulty. Driving decisions with logic over emotions, finding happiness amidst imperfect conditions, etc.
Check out some of them.
1. Focus on what you can control
The Stoics emphasized the importance of focusing our efforts on what we could influence in any given situation. Don't put energy into external events or other people's actions that you can't control. Take stock of the aspects you have control over during challenges and direct your attention in that direction.
2. Practice negative visualization
We have all heard that thoughts are very important and that is why it is important to think positively. But here Stoicism can surprise us. Regularly visualize worst-case scenarios related to your goals and fears. Clearly imagine failure in an exam, at work, loss of a loved one, serious illness or other misfortune. This “vaccinates” you against future misfortunes. You understand that you can handle and recover from even the worst situations as they arise in your life.
Negative visualization also increases gratitude in the present moment, helping you appreciate the good things you have that may be missing tomorrow.
